Inquiry lab notes

We have been learning about light and we have to do a experiment about light. Mine is Can a plant grow in artificial light. Read all about what I am going to do.

One plant in the sun and one plant in the artificial light/ night light.

  • By hypothesis is:
    If I put a plant in artificial light I think that it will get all shriveled up.   

    Materials
    • 2 flowers in pots
    • Night light
    • Sun
    • Water
    • Cardboard box

    Experimental Setup

    1. Plant your 2 plants
    2. In the morning give both the plants ⅓ of a cup of water each.
    3. Put one of the plants in the sun and the other in the cardboard box.
    4. When it is night time put the one which was in the cardboard box next to the nightlight and turn it on. Leave the other flower where it was.
    5. The next morning do the exact same steps as above
    6. Observe the the plants and see which one grows better
