Google for Education Conference

Today we went to Hobsonville point primary school. It has just been built about a year ago after an earthquake and it is made to fit 500 students even though right now it only has around 160 students. The school is really one big classroom and you can choose what activities you want to do. You can do what ever you want and the limit is that you only have to maths 3 times in a week. They also have things called trust passes and they allow you to go bake for the staff in the kitchen or play music in the music room.

The conference:
My mum drove Katy, Celia, Georgia and I there and Mrs Hills drove Callum, Scott, Rylan and Hugo. When we arrived we got a got a goody bag with a note book and a name tag.
First we went to watch 4 boys talk about there science projects.
Then we had morning tea.
Next it was our turn. First it was Hugo teaching us about Scratch. Then it was Scott and Callum teaching about google docs. After it was Georgia teaching us about padlet. Then it was Celia, Katy and I teaching about powtoon. Lastly it was Rylan with Wevideo.
Next we had lunch.
Then Katy and I did a storyboard work shop. It was on a site called storyboard that, it is an awesome site to plan your story's and even just to muck around. Here is the site.
Lastly we did a tour of the school and got told about every thing.
At the end we had prize giving but no one from our school got a prize.
